I’ve been changing things on the site. There are less
words where less were needed. There are new fotos of the Faun …. the new ones are more presentable and the hooves are easier to
see.
l’anno è nuovo e qualsiasi cosa potrebbe succedere … ………
brava! 'marie claire' (febraio 2002) (che francamente, ragazzi, ho capito
adesso ch'è veramente una rivista intelligente e raffinata) … "3
minuti nella testa di Chris Channing" - si scopre che questo stesso uomo
ascolta i castrati del settecento (chiaramente un miracolo della tecnologia) e
che vuole impersonare le sorelle brontè!
sono in compagnia di qualità però .... c'è anche
'pierre e gilles', josef nadj, marianne faithfull, ewan macgregor e
quella artista giapponese che mi fa così tenero, quella che che vive in un
ospedale per i malati mentale ed esce ogni tanto a fare le sue mostre,
tutte a base del 'point'/'spots'/'dots', .... yayoi kusama
notano (forse troppo brevemente) anche dello spettacolo
‘electric musicals’ …. (guardate
dentro la cornice vuota sul mio home page …. lì c’e una foto del vostro
channing alla musicals) …… sta
diventando bellissimo … sto
curando il ‘look’ alla grande – con del costumi originale anni 70 e con dei
vestiti fatti di tessuti e velluti indiani (george harrisonissimo …. janis
jaopinissimo) e
la scenografia …. adesso e proprio un mix di rock concert / rock musical e
‘canzonissima’
è bello farlo 'sto spettacolo perché ho la libertà di un presentatore comico
più la possibilità di cantare con dei musicisti eccezionalmente bravi e con la
mia co-protagonistà elisa pau che ha una voce meravigliosa
- e dei lavori
prossimi ?….. c’è la rassegna ‘tracce’ – che è una rassegna di teatro di
ricerca nella provincia di bologna (include le compagnie di manfredini e del
bono in una programmazione con molta variazione) - faccio io lo spettacolo d’inaugurazione – è legato a
quello l’articolo di ‘marie claire’
- poi sono di nuovo a fare spettacolo al ‘ballo del doge’
al palazzo pisani sul canal grande di venezia durante il carnevale …. è una
festa ricchissima con la fascina del ‘edonismo’ d’epoca

e alla fine febbraio mi
portano in brasile per 10 giorni per un festival di teatro al caldo (non vedo
l’ora … una settimanona senza soffrire del freddo! yeaah!)

with a festival of experimental and new style theatre (i’m opening the whole
shebang) ….. marie claire spends “three minutes inside the head of chris channing”
… enough for anyone! and come up
with several absolutely fascinating gems about my reading, listening,
travelling and working habits –
they also mention the musicals concert project – which is going well –
big changes to the look of the thing – new costumes in indian velvets and
original seventies fabrics… and new dressing for the stage which looks like a
cross between your traditional rock concert, rock musical and a sixties telly
show with many hanging discs of plastic and a wonderful podium in arched silver
metals for the drum kit
then in february they whisk me off to brazil for another theatre
festival …. i can’t wait … frankly the idea of spending a long week away from
the freeze and the fog is very attractive

Adesso in Gran Bretagna ed in America
più del musical stesso il pubblico ha voglia di godersi della musica esaltante
senza recitazione, e ormai da qualche anno “il musical in concerto” fa grande
successo!
Ideato da Andrea
Candeli con regia e design di Chris Channing, lo
spettacolo racconta la storia del Musical attraverso un viaggio creato dagli
artisti che ha come tappe una selezione accurata di brani tratti da opere come: “Hair”, “Jesus
Christ, Superstar”, “The Rocky Horror Show”, “Piccola Bottega degli Orrori”, ed
altri.
Ascoltandosi il concerto lo spettatore viene così a conoscere le tappe
principali di un genere che si può definire una fusione tra opera e musica pop.
